Valentine's Day

Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!  The kids woke up to find presents waiting for them at breakfast! Their cute pajamas were in their Valentine present from Grandma and Grandpa-Kate was dancing all night in her red nightgown.  Later after Michael had gone to school Kate and I made Daddy his favorite dessert to give him when he got home from work.  We tried to be adventurous and try doing a heart in Kate's hair- wasn't to horrible for a first attempt!
After we made the dessert Kate asked if she could do the dishes- umm sure!  She had so much fun washing the bowls and playing in the water.
I headed down stairs and pretty soon I heard "Uh Oh, Mom I think I have a problem."  She had turned on the water to rinse the dishes and let it keep running and this is what happened...

Luckily she turned it off right as it started running over!
Later in the day we headed to the school to help with Michael's class Valentine's party.

I forgot to get my camera out for the rest of the day but we had a fun day hanging out together! The kids and I set up a table in the family room and decorated it to surprise Daddy.  We had yummy heart shaped pizza and watched a movie together.  After the kiddos went to bed we were able to watch a movie and enjoy some mom and dad time being able to visit and just enjoy each others company!

Amazed---

Sometimes I look at my kids and wonder Wow- they are such amazing little people!  I help in Michael's classroom once a week at school.  He is in a Spanish Immersion program at his school that means half the day they are taught in English and half the day they are taught in Spanish.  It is amazing to me to see these little first graders, none of who knew any Spanish before starting, now 5 months into school and already speaking and understanding Spanish so well.  I was sitting checking papers in his Spanish class a few days ago and found myself just listening to them converse in Spanish.  Now I know no spanish at all but it was amazing to see the teacher talking and telling them to do things and watching MY kid understand everything she was saying.  And then to hear him talking and asking questions completely in Spanish it kind of blows me away.  He is not only doing so well in in Spanish but is excelling in every area of school and he loves it which is the most important thing to me!  I can't wait to continue to watch both my kids grow- I can't wait to see what incredible things they both do!

On another note we registered Kate to start Kindergarten next year.  A very exciting day for her and kind of a sad one for mom!  She's so ready though- she's reading so well and loves to learn!
